Dogs make brilliant picturebook characters and are universally popular around the world which makes them an easy choice for publishers to get on board with. Their variety of shapes sizes, colours, coat types and of course personalities make them endlessly enjoyable to draw and provide huge scope for character development too.
In this video I try to break the drawing process down for you in an approach that can be used when drawing anything from dogs to donkeys, pelicans to canaries.
