Macmillan Prize for Illustration 2024 - Emma takes you step-by-step through the entry brief
I include some helpful tips and tricks along the way. It's a professional standard brief so worth checking out even if you don't fancy entering
Hello Everyone!
As promised, I’ve begun my short series detailing helpful tips and tricks when entering the Macmillan Prize for Illustration.
It’s a Prize I’m passionate about. Unfortunately, it’s only open to UK entrants but don’t let that put you off. It’s a brilliant brief that reflects a good expectation of how to approach publishers or agents. It’s industry standard, so have a go anyway.
It only used to be open to UK based students but has since opened up to the general public post-Pandemic.
I’ve also included a template as a guide for you to use when planning your picturebook. *It’s precisely that, a guide. It’s up to you whether you want your single page to be more square/portrait/panoramic so long as your single page dimensions do not exceed 300mm / 30cm on either side.
Thanks once again for being a part of The Picturebook Studio. Any questions or comments, please pop them in the comment box below and I’ll keep an eye on anything that crops up and hopefully be able to help!
